EPA WEBINAR: Financing CHP at Wastewater Treatment Facilities with Clean Water Revolving Fund Resources

Financing CHP at Wastewater Treatment Facilities with Clean Water Revolving Fund Resources
Monday, March 16, 3:00-4:30 PM ET

CHP is a reliable, cost-effective, and proven solution for producing electricity and thermal energy at wastewater treatment facilities (WWTFs). Obtaining capital to finance CHP systems can be a challenge for facilities, but EPA’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), which provides low-interest loans for publicly owned WWTFs, can help overcome the financing challenge. The EPA CHP Partnership explores this financing mechanism in a recently released fact sheet about CWSRF financing for CHP.

This webinar will:

  • Provide an overview of EPA’s CWSRF, and how CWSRF resources can be used to finance CHP projects
  • Present a case study of Delhi Charter Township Wastewater Treatment Plant in Michigan, a facility that used CWSRF resources for facility improvements including the installation of a 60 kW CHP system
  • Highlight the outreach and support provided to WWTFs by DOE’s CHP Technical Assistance Partnerships
  • Highlight CHP project development resources available through the Partnership

Speakers include:

  • Neeharika Naik-Dhungel, EPA CHP Partnership
  • Emily Nicasio, EPA Office of Water
  • Maggie Cunningham, EPA Office of Water, Region 3
  • Sandra Diorka, Delhi Charter Township (Michigan)
